Why Education Advanced?

"I always knew I wanted to be an educator with the end goal of becoming a school counselor. I believe I was called to help people and education provided my "why.” I enjoyed my time in the classroom teaching but felt my greatest asset was building relationships with students and educating them about mental health. I not only found myself counseling students but often found staff members in my office looking for a "listening ear." I pride myself in being able to build relationships with those around me. Now I have the opportunity to build relationships with countless others throughout countless districts as an employee of EAI."

Outside of Work

DeAnna is a wife and a mother to two adult sons. Her oldest son is a Ranch Manager and her youngest is a senior in college majoring in electrical engineering. DeAnna spends the majority of her free time with her family enjoying outdoor activities. Her family enjoys the warm beaches in the summer and the ski slopes of the mountains in the winter. Even though her sons are grown, they still travel together on yearly family vacations. They have a goal to visit all 50 states and have crossed 36 off their list including Hawaii.

"You've been through a thousand things in your life people don't even know about. You've experienced things that have shook you, changed you, broke you, built you and taught you to be stronger than you ever thought you had the ability to be. And you are who you are for all of it. So the next time someone judges you based on a small part of what they see and how they interpret that, remember who you are, remember how much you've overcome and smile and keep walking because you don't have a single thing to prove to anyone else. You've already proved so much to yourself who muddled through storms that people didn't even see because of how you carried yourself."
